Mobility Is the Most Needed Part of Our Martial Arts Training

But we tend to neglect checking the range we use during training to see if the body can get there. We just perform and hope that we will be able to do so because the body is warm, or because we have done it sometime in the past.

In Rooted Strength Method, we train the ranges we need to move easily and reliably — from active mobility of the feet and joints, to passive mobility, trigger point therapy, and movement patterns that are strong and reliable. We also explore rotational energy in different parts of the body, as well as on the ground from many different positions. We pair that with proper breathing patterns, learning how to use our diaphragm, which is also a source of movement, mobility, and awareness coming from the ground up, creating a reliable chain of movement.

So there is no guessing whether your body will be capable of doing something; it will, because you've trained it.

We pair this with proper breath to engage speed or stability, and also dynamic movement angles to challenge the body while carrying load. The body becomes reliable and resilient, so you can live everyday life without movement restriction or unexpected pain in certain movement ranges — and you can run from a zombie apocalypse and fight the zombies if needed.

Thank you, and till next time warriors!
